Bio
As an important up and coming act in the LA indie music scene, the music The Long Way Home produces cannot be ignored. Generating a hybrid style of rock all their own, The Long Way Home is at their best while mining the classic rock forms of Hendrix and Zeppelin and filtering them through the more experimental and harder rock of contemporary bands like Tool or the Mars Volta. Whats amazing about this band is the familiarity they seem to evoke, all the while managing to create a genuine sound unlike anything youve ever heard before.
The Long Way Home was formed three years ago by a group of four young men who were eager to devote themselves to the production of quality music. Guitarist, technical guru and producer Matt Joy shapes the bands distinctive sound with his seamless precision. George Reichart pushes the limits of the music with his innovative composition and virtuosic guitar playing. The quiet and intellectual Chris Hagenah holds down the grooves on bass. And driving the beat with his hard-hitting drum style is the visceral Keith Lawton.
The Long Way Home's greatest strengths lie in the variety of music they play, fully utilizing three vocalists to give each song a unique quality as the lead vocal duties may switch from one song to another. Each members' individual musical skill and influence leaves for a memorable experience when seeing a live performance as this is a band that is quickly moving itself up the ranks towards bigger and better things for the future.
