The Lord Henry

Although they had been close friends for fifteen years, The Lord Henry formed over a five hundred mile divide spanning from Austin to Amarillo. Clinton Piper and Billy Potts spent one year recording tracks and trading song ideas via the Internet before ever playing together in the same room as The Lord Henry. Most of the material on ‘Voila’, the band’s debut EP, was written during the summer of 2003 while Clinton was living in Paris. After spending most of 2004 in Dallas, touring regionally in support of ‘Voila’ and building a respectable fan base and internet following, the band moved to Austin. The move resulted in Clinton’s younger brother, Grant Piper, joining the band playing bass. With the new lineup in place, a bigger sound, and an infectious stage chemistry, the band rapidly made a name for itself in Austin, playing with notable new acts such as ‘What Made Milwaukee Famous’, ‘Solace Brothers’, and ‘Pedro and the Lion’. The Lord Henry is currently in the studio with producer Stuart Sikes (White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Loretta Lynn), recording their debut LP, set for release in January 2006.
