Bio

Even for the biggest fan, it’s hard not to feel some days that punk rock has lost its way. What was once a
pure unbridled musical release seems more like a fashion statement these days.

Which is why we need to thank bands like hard-hitting Gold Coast four piece The Lost Arcade for
reminding us what punk is really meant to be. They know what it’s about – you get on stage, blast through
a dozen songs in 30 minutes, and walk off.

Drawing inspiration from bands like Guttermouth, Good Riddance and Strung Out, The Lost Arcade make
music that’s hard, fast, and uncompromising.

The band’s motivation is simple – a bunch of longtime friends playing music playing the music they like
for their mates. And it’s the perfect soundtrack for their Coast lifestyle of surfing, skating and getting
amped.

Longtime friends with a trans Tasman connection, they all played in any number of bands both here and
in New Zealand before finally coming together over the last year. The now solid line-up features guitarist/
singers Chad and Cheyne Dowsett, Jai OSullivan on bass, and drummer Matt Hatful.

With two tracks recorded and online, the band has already tasted some success on the airwaves with
their tracks supported by iconic Brisbane radio station Triple Zed and earning some spins on national
broadcaster Triple J.

But it’s on stage where The Lost Arcade really makes an impression. They’ve chalked up a run of shows
around Brisbane and the Coast, sharing the stage with the likes of Mouthguard, The Rumjacks, R.U.S.T,
Backyard Surgeons and many more.

And while the band continues to focus on building on its live reputation, plans are afoot to head into the
studio once more to produce their debut EP, due for release in 2010.
