"Battle of the Bands winner The Lost Colors to open for Relient K"

"The Lost Colors" a Christian/Indie/Pop/Rock band whose members come from Wichita and Towanda, Kansas, will open for Relient K Saturday at Elitch Gardens Theme Park Arena, Denver, Color.

The Lost Colors earned the honor of opening for Relient K by winning an online Rock and Ride Battle of the Bands contest.

The Lost Colors, a Christian/Indie/Pop/Rock band, is made up of five creative musicians from Wichita and Towanda, Kan. -- united by a love for music and a desire to bring a positive influence to people's lives. The band accomplishes this by combining upbeat lyrics with energizing musical compositions.

The Lost Colors music is written by its members and co-produced by Lester Estelle (Grammy-nominated musician and former Pillar drummer) and Joey Avalos (Award-winning songwriter and former Pillar/Justafide guitarist) at Kansas City area studios and mixed/mastered in Knoxville, Tenn.

The first single released from this collaboration, "Blame," is proving to be a hit with listeners and fans with an upbeat message of taking control of one's life and not blaming others. Two more songs from the upcoming 3-song demo will soon be released: the high-energy song "Say OK," which invites listeners to hear their positive inner voice and "Turn Around," an energetic rock tune which tells listeners not to despair when down because life will turn around.

The Lost Colors are currently performing live shows in the Midwest and are writing new music. Future projects include recording sessions for a 5-song EP and a full-length CD.

Band members are: Ellie Gorman (vocals), Kristyn Chapman (lead guitar), Michael Mendez (bass), Michael Cunningham (keyboards), and Matt Cunningham (drums).

The Lost Colors is a pop/rock band from Wichita, Kansas. Formed from the ashes of previous project, milemarker128, The Lost Colors got their start in early 2009 by five friends united by not only a passion for music, but also a love for Jesus Christ. The group began their career playing various shows to gain recognition around the Wichita area, and soon began branching out to the surrounding regions. The Lost Colors released their self-titled debut demo CD early in the summer of 2009. Their first single from the demo, titled “Blame,” features an upbeat message that speaks of taking responsibility of one’s actions rather than blaming others for their mistakes. “Blame” has proven to be a hit among their hometown fans as well as online, where it has made its way toward the top of numerous internet music charts. The band is currently performing live shows across the Midwest and plan to enter to the studio to begin work on completing their EP in the winter. The Lost Colors have shared the stage with nationally known acts such as Relient K, Sanctus Real, This Beautiful Republic, Since October, Stars Go Dim, and many more. With catchy, powerful songs, energetic live performances, and a passion to bring a positive influence to the lives of others, The Lost Colors is proving to be a band to watch for in the future.
