Bio

After carving their name into our conciousness with their eponymous and unrelenting debut, fusing glam-grunge, disaffected pyschedelia and filthed-up nostalgia in equal measure, The Loud return with new single Amy's Gonna Get You, released via Payper Tiger Records on June 1st.

With its laid-back precision, the beat dragging alluringly one step behind the dirty-sweet melody, and vocalist Pennington Lee's primal howl melding the whole smoke-stained cacophony into something fevered and determined. Amy's Gonna Get You writhes in the first flush of attraction.

Recorded at Ghosttown Studios at the tail end of 2010 with producer Ross Halden, The Loud capture the fervent energy that has seen them heralded live and floored critics.

Drawing from the post-punk echoes of The Jesus and Mary Chain, Echo & The Bunnymen, Wipers and Joy Division, alongside the psyche and garage reverie of The Monks, 13th Floor Elevators and Tyrannosaurus Rex, The Loud are anything but revisionist, paying homage to their musical forefathers whilst dragging their influences by the hair into 2011, pummelling modern society's ills and pleasures into every beat, bar and dizzying impassioned vocal.

Amy's Gonna Get You, backed by B-sides Jodie Foster and a remix of the A-side provided by The Arkestra, (formerly Liverpool's favourite urchins The Rascals); will be available to buy on 7" and DL from June 1st. To mark the occasion in style, The Loud will be playing a very special launch show as a part of Liverpool's Sound City festival, with The Black Lips at The Masque Theatre on May 20th.

The band's mini-album, Harris Shutter, will be released on Independence Day ( July 4th ) in the midst of extensive support slots and festival appearances including shows with Iggy and The Stooges, Gryff Rhys and Echo and The Bunnymen.
