The Louisiana Street Band

Formed in early 2010, the Louisiana Street Band (half of whom actually live on Louisiana street) began playing around Lawrence in March, 2010 and witnessed a huge breakout semester with eleven shows in two weeks. We began as a blues rock band and have evolved into a group that enjoys an eclectic mix of genres, from rock, blues, and swampy funk tunes to Latin-infused jazz. After getting a new drummer and adding a sax in September, 2010, we played our first gig as a renewed group at the General Mills' U Rock! Battle for the Best. We ended up winning that, a national online vote, and a competition in Los Angeles to be awarded time in Firehouse Studios in Pasadena, CA, a process that took us from September, 2010 to January 2011. Having just returned, we are eager to start playing bigger and better shows with an explosion of new material.
