The Low Behold

The Low Behold

 London, England, GBR

It began when Andy accidentally co-wrote a song called When You Wake Me. Lisa did the vocals and it sounded real nice so they did some more songs, bonded over a shared love of Palm Lager, Mint Aeroes and Adam Ant, and became The Low Behold.

As half of the band Relation, Andy wrote all the songs on their debut album Fear of Night (Urban Torque) which was described as “Brilliant” by Pop Justice, “a quality piece of work” by DMC Update, “Impressive stuff” by Mixmag, “a stylish and thoughtful debut” by the South London Press, and was rated as one of Tilllate Magazine’s Top 25 albums of 2009. The first Relation single Superenlightened was featured as a dance single of the week on the BBC website and their second single Your Tiny Mind was not only a Pop Justice song of the day but was included on Groove Armada’s LoveBox compilation CD and a Hed Kandi compilation. …. Andy has also co-written 2 singles with Superbass (producers/writers of Kylie Minogue, Ladyhawke and Little Boots) including Solution released on Toolroom in 2008, and had his first solo single Butty Box by Laserdisco released earlier this year. ….

A native of Toronto, Canadian vocalist Lisa Lorenz moved to London in late 2009 to develop her music career. With a strong and prolific background in classical solo and choral performance in her formative years, she finally feels at home within The Low Behold’s pop vocal landscapes. …. Recent musical collaborations include vocals on recent releases for Toronto dubstep producer XI (aka Ultragamma), as well as backing vocals for London indie folk rock band Curse of Lono.

Lisa and Andy are releasing their first EP in March 2011 on the recently activated Sudden Hush Recordings and will be following it shortly after with a second EP and a collection of remixes
