“Listening to the Low Flying Planes is like every folk song and every person you have ever loved, in one place at one time..." - Laura Jeffreys, CJSR DJ

“I love the early live recordings from 63, 64 of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez be- cause they’re not just harmonizing on the chorus, but the whole 6 minute song. All of those words sometimes at rapid fire speed, two voices straight through, No one does this as well as Joan & Bob, except the Low Flying Planes”. - C.R. Avery, Beatbox Poet, Playwright

“The Low Flying Planes are the most original new Canadian Group I have seen in years. With riveting musicianship, intricate arrangements and mesmer- izing stage presence, they truly have it all. You will hear so many exciting musical influences in the course of an evening, it is near impossible to pigeon-hole a style. One thing is certain however, this is a truly Canadian Sound!” - Dale Ladouceur, Musician, Writer Activist

Bio

A chance recording session brought Lynett McKell and Megan Kemshead together in 2008. Their immediate vocal chemistry inspired these two Edmonton based songwriters to collaborate on the creation of The Low Flying Planes.

You will not soon forget the sweet licks and haunting melodies this band surrenders. The two diverse styles of writing guarantees a compelling and engaging sound track from which their harmonies blend together to create an instrument that stands alone. Accompanied by the banjo stylings of Bramwell Park (also of The Provincial Archive) and fiddle maestro Cam Boyce (Founder of Red Beard recording), this acoustic quartet will have you moving in no time to their gypsy waltzes and footstompin’ bluegrass.

The Low Flying Planes deliver a performance that will remind you of days gone by and tempt you to fall in love with what’s to come.
