the low rollers

San Francisco band the low rollers started as the solo project of lead singer Joel Murach, a long-time San Francisco musician with ties to the Bay Area singer-songwriter and alt-country scenes. Joel's brother, long-time musical partner and bandmate Tom Murach played drums, and other friends and former bandmates played and sang in the band.

Then came the injury. Right on the heels of 2009 release Lucky One Way. Surfing a big one at Ocean Beach, Tom had a surf board fin tear through his right calf, severing muscle and nerves and halting any progress on the full band promoting the album.

At the end of 2010, after constant rehabilitation, Tom was getting to the point where he was able to play drums in a live setting again, but at first there wasn't a band. Other collaborators had their own projects to work on. Fortuitously, mutual friends introduced Tom to bassist Colin Peden, a recent transplant from Austin Texas, and the reformed band played their first show after two rehearsals.

This new entity is the low rollers. We play country tinged, fuzzed-out rock and roll with sweet harmony vocals.
