Recorded in the summer of 2006 and released this past August, the debut E.P. from The Luxury of Time contains three songs that define and showcase the diverse and innovative sound of The Luxury of Time. The Luxury of Time
The Luxury of Time is a four piece band from the city of Chicago and various western suburbs. Vocals, guitar, drums and bass are merged seamlessly with synthesizers and drum machines to create an unexpected sound. Despite having a foundation in rock-n-roll, The Luxury of Time draw influence from many musical genres such as electronica, pop, country, blues, and soul. Fans have described the band's sound as melodic, inspiring, and dramatic. After one particular show, a member of the synth-dance group "Win a Date With Galactic Heartthrob", described the band as "Chicago's newest synth-pop debutantes." Debutantes in music maybe, but not in attitude. Watching The Luxury of Time play is watching four people who are genuinely having a good time, making music that they feel, and doing it well.
