"Power 104 & CKOV 63"

I really think these girls have talent and was pretty damn impressed when I heard them. - Bob Mills, Program Director

"The Capital News"

The MacGregors were excellent in musical content and performance and in pure entertainment. They are charm and talent wrapped up in youth and energy. Each member of this young team is talented. Combined they are a delight. Catch this talented group while you can, because they could hit the high road of success a lot faster than even I expect. - Charlie Hodge

"CHBC Television"

Rachel and Alisha are two feisty fiddle playing sisters who have stage presence beyond their years. The MacGregors are gathering a devoted following in the community. - Kelly Abbott, Host/Producer

"Okanagan Today"

These two young ladies are talented musicians who are also professional and engaging. - Rosemary-Jean Thompson

"CBC Radio-Canada"

The MacGregors were wonderful to work with and were able to adjust to different needs of live programming with just a simple request. Musically the groups came across as practiced and competent. The ability of Rachel and Alisha is impressive for musicians of their age. Also impressive was their ability to perform in an unfamiliar setting with confidence in a situation that would put many musicians on edge (i.e. the size of the audience). Over the days that followed their performance on our program we received letter and e-mails from across British Columbia from people who enjoyed their performance a great deal. It was a pleasure to have this group on our program. - David French

"The Capital News"

This debut albulm [Dark Beauty] is way better than expected and is remarkably accomplished....There is also a level of sophistication here with songs like I'm Not Lost Anymore and Undying Love that compare favourably to '70's California Fleetwood Mac. The girls play a mean fiddle (sorta Dexy's Midnight Runners moreso than country or Celtic) and this ought to be explored more as heard on my favourite tune Well Of Pain...Certainly a fine new talent to watch and I would expect to hear a lot more from this cast in the future. - Bruce Mitchell

"49music.net"

Sisters Rachel and Alisha MacGregor have already made names for themselves internationally, with Alisha winning first prize in this year's International Songwriting Competition and Rachel taking third. Add to that the fact their song Dark Beauty was named a finalist in this year's John Lennon Songwriting Competition, and you've got a group with some credentials. Some may find it difficult to live up to such high standards, but the MacGregors made it look easy. - Review of Music BC Get Outta Town Tour by Tyson Richie

"Coast Mountain News"

That we dance to their music is their service to us, and as we sing along to their lyrics, the words become our own. In this simple cycle of listening and responding, we are connecting to the whole of human experience and The MacGregors make it look effortless. - Christina Boucher

"The Okanagan Musician"

...this 10-song collection is a definite collector CD. Unless lightning strikes, DARK BEAUTY is simply a terrific kickoff album to a long and very bright musical career for sisters Alisha and Rachel MacGregor. ...The depth of their songwriting and musical ability is somewhat spellbinding...The MacGregor sisters share the songwriting, violin playing, and lead vocals on this record, with Rachel also playing lead guitar while Alisha handles the keyboards. Talented or what? - Charlie Hodge

Bio

Simultaneous youth and experience is a rare concoction. Rachel and Alisha MacGregor, both in their early 20s, are award winning sister songwriters. They’ve already completed two CD’s and won numerous awards and accolades. Being sisters, they have a deep musical connection and ability to create harmonies that members of the same family seem to be born with. They have been compared to artists ranging from Tegan and Sara, to Fleetwood Mac because of their unique songwriting abilities, instrumental abilities and ear-catching melodies.

Since their last award winning album, Dark Beauty, The MacGregors’ songs have been accumulating and through encouragement of their friends and fans, its time to record again. There's been a lot of anticipation for these new songs and it is a labour of love for The MacGregors. Their new EP is called Keep it Simple Series (Volume 1).

Their passion for music is evident in their songwriting and live performances. Music can be a crazy journey and the destination unclear. But it’s a journey The MacGregors are excited to take, because in the end, the song and the people you meet along the way is the reason.
