Bio
This quartet from Rotterdam, Holland knows how to keep a beat. They started out playing the beat, or rather 'biet', as they say in Holland in 2005. Since than their sound evolved from the primitive sounding 60's garage to well arranged powerpop songs. Still influenced by an musical area that is far behind us. But sounding modern, fresh and played with an urgency that is hard to find in todays popmusic. The Madd first played strictly covers. Something not everyone agrees on is the right way to start. But it worked for the Beatles AND The Stones, so why not for The Madd. And besides that, aren't most Top 40 artists playing the songs they didn't write themselves? Keeping that in mind, it's even more impressive that on their latest records, The Madd Are Pretty Quick (yes, ARE pretty quick, not IS) half of the songs are actually compositions written by these four charming young men in their own practicespace. Try to hear the difference.
The Madd had a toptwenty hitsingle in Holland with rapper (!) Dio. And played every major club and festival from the Lowlands festival to the Amsterdam Paradiso.
