Bio

The Maevens are a folk rock band that met in 2004. Members Kelly Burrows, Graydon James, Jason Lapidus and Myke Mazzei have been making a name for themselves in Toronto's folk music scene, playing such venues as The Horseshoe Tavern, the Cameron House and The Rivoli. The Maevens keep their audiences guessing with songs that range from introspective and sultry, to imaginative and quirky and back again. Influenced by musicians such as Sarah Harmer, Kathleen Edwards, Sarah McLachlan, acoustic Neil Young and Coldplay, the Maevens' style is at once relaxed and intense, inviting their audiences to take a ride with them, guided by Burrows' melodic tones.

A 5-song EP Halfway Again, completed with drummer Jeff Kahl who performed with The Maevens in 2004-2005, and a 6-song EP Dangerous Place with drummer Dan Cameron, who performed with The Maevens in 2006, have now both sold out. Their latest release "Ragamuffin" is now available at shows or by contacting The Maevens at info@themaevens.com. More shows are always in the works, so check back often to find out when you can catch them live.

Their chemistry and energy are undeniable and the result is music that resonates with a wide range of listeners.
