Bio

The Maintenance Mode consists of Randy Craig, Ben Crisman, and Jason Legler. After years of collaborating on each other’s projects, the three friends finally merged, fusing the talents of Craig’s vocals, guitar playing and songwriting, Crisman’s percussion, and Legler’s multi-instrumentation and engineering. The Maintenance Mode marks an eclectic new direction for the trio by blending each member’s unique influence into a singular democratic vision—and as dense a soundscape as ever created by a three-piece band.

“Cyclical Disaster”—the group’s first record—was written and recorded in Portland, Oregon. Definitely consistent with the hook-based indie rock genre, the album is nevertheless diversified in its aesthetic, changing mood with any given track. Offerings from the pop-driven “Hollow” to the epic dance groove of “I Can’t Fall Anymore” defy expectation; the result is a very accessible yet refined collection of songs.

The Maintenance Mode currently is found in local venues around Portland. Whether they are shaking a venue with a bombastic set or playing stripped-down acoustics to a coffee shop crowd, the band’s one guarantee is that you’ll never see the same show twice. Showcased in the 94.7 KNRK Streets of Tanasbourne Concert Series, the band can be heard on Portland’s 94.7 FM and various radio stations in the Northwest.
