Based out of a small town near Columbus, Ohio, The Major present positive rock and roll with a quirky undercurrent that renders the entire project an endearing affair. Certainly not one to conform to any musical genre that is the current fashion of the day, the Major’s debut EP The Best Of The Worst Things In Life presents 6 tracks of inspiring rock anthems that are absolutely timeless.
The listener is reeled in right away with the first track The Edge Of Forever, which will set your toes tapping with its upbeat infectiousness. Hey Kid, You’re Doing Fine is a slamming cut that will jangle joyfully through the listener’s ears and would be a perfect candidate for hit single status on any indie college radio station. You’re Not Counting, You’re Gambling is another standout with its sweeping guitars and vibrant vocal inflections. And showing just how diverse The Major sound can be, Never Say Never is an impressive ballad that is both pensive and wondrous.
The musicianship is true excellence, with each member weaving their own brand of magic into the proceedings – including Ryan Ring on vocals and guitar, Stew Newman on drums, Devan Dexter on bass and vocals, and Kyle Prouty on guitar. Fans of the more independent bands on the Tooth & Nail label will certainly be excited to find a brand new favorite band to add into their life (not to mention on their Ipods). Bio
The Major is a belief influenced power pop band on the rise out of Columbus Ohio. Producing sounds comparable to All Time Low, Hit The Lights and Four Year Strong, The Major is appealing to fans of a variety of genres. The Major brings an entertaining, high energy stage performance to live shows along with a unique style of music.
We have only been a band for a year and a half and have already been blessed with opportunities. In the short amount of time we have been together, we have recorded a 7 song EP and had it reviewed in Highwire Daze Magazine, which is based out of Orange County, California. Also we have played live shows with signed artists, and have even been offered a recording contract with Tate Music Group in Oklahoma. We hope to expand our music progressively and build a career in the music industry.
