Most recently The Manikees were selected to appear on XFM X-Posure in November 07 where two of there tracks were played every night for a week. On the back of this they are going to be doing a live session on air.

Back in October 07 the band won a competition to win a support slot with Surrey band ‘Ghosts’ at the Hardrock café in Edinburgh covered by STV. They were selected out of 500 acts to play the in final in which they went up against 5 other finalists. They were chosen winners by the panel of judges from STV, E4 music and DF Concerts after receiving the most votes from the 400 strong crowd that were packed into the Hardrock. Great night!

The Manikees recently won their Xfm Uploaded group on Martin Bates music response show after receiving the majority of votes from listeners. They also did the same earlier in the year, when they won their Myspace Cadet group on Jim Gellatly’s show.

The Manikees are appearing with ever more regularity in a local newspaper, The Fife Free Press, as one of the most promising bands from Fife.

From a wee village in central Fife called Ladybank.

Started jamming together in early 2005 and became ‘The Manikees’ in January 2006.

To entertain the locals (our mates – all tired of getting ripped off at pubs and clubs and pulling other blokes’ women folk. Falling out of taxis at 4am and waking up with aching heads, empty wallets and even emptier beds! What a life?) Also, to keep ourselves warm during the long winter nights and to keep us busy during the hazey summer days. More recently we do it for the Manikee Army. When you see them, you’ll know it. Thanks to them, all of them!
