The Manimal

The Manimal (Brendan Smith) first began playing music at age 9. he joined his first band as a guitarist in an alt. rock band at age 13 and stuck with them till he graduated high school. After which he went off to college and played in an alt. metal band with a sound similar to A Perfect Circle and another indie rock band. Upon graduating from Ohio University with a degree in music production and finding a new interest in electronic music, (specifically Drum & Bass) Brendan decided to create the Manimal as his alter dj/producer persona. Gaining influence from such acts as The Prodigy, Skream, Pendulum, and the Beastie Boys he set out to create an electronic artist that brings the same intensity and energy as the Beastie Boys and The Pordigy do to their music and performances as well as the deep, dark ambient and dub styles from artists such as Skream. Combining these sounds and styles, The Manimal has a unique show that offers sounds from the deepest darkest jungle to something that could sit at the top of the billboard pop charts and will be sure that everyone in the audience will thoroughly be enjoying themselves.
