Bio

Purely instinctive, wildly frenetic and focused solely on transferring their collective energy to the audience, The Mark Inside are a group of four kindred souls in that regard. The massively powerful rhythm section of Geoff Bennett (on bass) and Geordie Dynes (behind the drum kit) serves to generate a foundation for each song so solid as to render Greenwich Mean Time obsolete. The guitars, strapped to the writhing, sweat-soaked torsos of Gus Harris and Chris Levoir, are capable of incredibly inventive feats that run the spectrum from mind-bending distortion levels to skilled, raw solos and melodic lines. Their ability to play off of, and against, one another provides for an outstanding array of musical possibility.
There exists an authority which The Mark Inside are capable of generating during live shows that is as palpable as the stage or the amps themselves; a miasma that surrounds both band and audience so warmly, so securely that it’s deceptively easy to become completely lost in the moment. It’s in the voice, and the eyes, of Chris Levoir; something so compelling, so pure, that there can be no doubt that this band truly feels what they’ve written. They aren’t just playing at rock and roll. They carry that weight with them like a much-loved, and possibly much-loathed, weapon. And whether it’s the surf riff of House of Cards, the massive drum break of Lime Green Monkeys or the neo-blues soloing of Shots (From A Broken Bottle), it’s a weapon they are clearly adept at using.
It’s this energy, this exuberance, which has been captured so perfectly on the band’s forthcoming album, entitled Nothing To Admit. Having signed to UK-based Metalbox Recordings and recorded at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, England with producer -- and Metalbox label head -- Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Editors and more), there are now eleven new tracks on this planet which not only display the phenomenal diversity of The Mark Inside but which also capture the intensity and raw emotion the four members exhibit live. Nothing To Admit is the soul of a band laid bare. There are no compromises. There are no radio edits. There are no what-ifs, no maybes, no second-guessing from record label suits. There exists only the intensity of four young men who have come together to create something extraordinarily special and infinitely enjoyable. This is The Mark Inside.

** Nothing To Admit will be released in the spring of 2009.
