"Mars Hall wins Independent Music Award 2007"

[Los Angeles]’S OWN [Mars Hall] IS AMONG WINNERS OF THE 6TH ANNUAL INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS

INDIE ARTISTS FROM FIVE CONTINENTS TO BE PROMOTED TO MORE THAN 10 MILLION PEOPLE & APPEAR IN 2007 EDITION OF THE MUSICIAN’S ATLAS

[Los Angleles] based artist/band [The Mars Hall] is among a diverse group of independent musicians named as winners of the 6th Annual Independent Music Awards. [Members of The Mars Hall started writing and recording together in the Spring of 2002. Ted Kraut( guitar and vocals) and Marshall Thompson (Keys and Vocals) mixed most of the album themselves on a vintage API board. The album was recorded to tape bypassing computers completely. Ted and Marshall also recently won L.A. Music Awards Artists of The Year 2006 as part of The band Mother Jones.

All IMA winners were selected by a panel of celebrity and industry judges and will receive year-long marketing support to enhance the campaigns for their current projects and careers. The winners encompass both established and emerging talent including Speech, the GRAMMYÆ Award-winning artist of Arrested Development fame; God Forbid, the heavy metal band fresh from Ozzfest; and The Vacancies, the new addition to Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records.

IMA winners will appear in the updated 2007 edition of The Musician’s Atlas – the independent musicians’ and entrepreneurs’ definitive guide to the music business, available on December 15, 2006. Developed and coordinated by Music Resource Group, publisher of The Musician’s Atlas, the Independent Music Award program delivers a variety of premiums to Winners including:

_ Year-long marketing campaigns, partnerships and distribution alliances, that will place the Winners in front of millions of music fans and industry decision makers around the world.

_ Music promotion to college & public radio stations by The Planetary Group, a leading radio promotions company with access to 700 stations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

_An arrangement with BordersStores.com that makes their CDs available for purchase. The Mars Hall won The Independent Music Award for "Best Song" 2007 (Jam Category) for their song "Nu Song" featured on the MRG Labels "Now Here This Compilation CD" as well as the bands debut album "The Mars Hall Planet Ted"

The Band features one of the most in demand side-men in Los Angeles, Marshall Thompson and his song writing partner, guitar player vocalist Ted Kraut.

The Mars Hall is coming off a sucessful South West tour which included a performance at SXSW in Austin and stops in L.A.,Pheonix,Tuscon, and Fredricksburg TX, where the band got to hear themselves on KFAN Rebel Radio. KFAN is a progressive commercial AAA station serving the Austin and San Antonio areas.

Marshall has worked for just about every major label and most recently performed with Miles Tacket's(Son of Little Feat Guitar Player) Breakestra at KCRW's Sounds Eclect Evening.
