The Marta Complex

Formed in early 2005, The Marta Complex spent all of that year and most of 2006 locked away in a recording studio. Before the formation of the band, guitar players Darren Trentacost and Timothy Hicks had just finished producing a recording for a Detroit based band called Only People. At the time both Darren and Tim had gotten use to life on the other side of the glass after frequent attempts to get their own music project off the ground. At the CD release show for Only People, then vocalist Jonathan Schultz and bass player Dan Bowering, dissatisfied with the musical direction of their band approached the two Recording Producers with the idea of starting up a new project. The next week the guys meet at a recording studio and didn't leave for nearly two years. Late in the recording Drummer Mitch Schirr joined The Marta Complex after he had spent the last year on the road with a touring rock group. With all five members in place and the recording finished, The Marta Complex released their debut Full length album in August of 2007. Currently the band is back in the studio to start work on their sophomore record and will be on tour throughout 2008.
