Hmmmm.... The Meadows Brothers. As you probably guessed, they're brothers. Ian, 17, and Dustin, 15, from Chester, CT. The boys have built up a reputation locally for their work with the hard-hitting classic rock revivalists sayWHAT?, but were looking for an opportunity to branch out and focus on their songwriting, as well as take an opportunity to mellow out and display their love for American folk, old-country, and blues music, combining these styles with their rock influences for an interesting, but natural sound.
The Brothers had originally pondered trying to find other musicians with similar musical interests, but instead decided on the formula that has worked for the coffeehouse and open mic performances they have done in the past, as well as the countless demos they have toiled on in their bedroom, just the two of them. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Don't expect Ian's crunchy guitar tone or Dustin's slamming drum kit, the Meadows have ditched their overdriven rocknroll (for this project, at least) for acoustic guitars, lap steel, percussion, harmonicas, brushed drums, and maybe the occasional twangy electric guitar lick, but it doesn't go much farther then that. Be expecting an EP for sale soon.
