Biography

The Medicine formed in the seaside town of Blackpool and rehearsed constantly before travelling to the venues of Liverpool. Before long a promoter from The Cuban Heel club night asked the band to perform as residents at the venue Heebie Jeebies on Seel Street. The gigs that followed saw the band perform with the likes of The Rascals, Bez, Mick Head, The Vortex (ex Oasis), The Parlotones and Exit Calm. The band also went on a UK tour and were invited for interviews and live performances on BBC Radio Merseyside, BBC Radio Lancashire, Hope Radio and City Talk with Neil Fitzmaurice.

After touring the band were booked in to record at the legendary Smokehouse Studios in London and contacted by Northern Star Records. Having already played a gig at a Northern Star Records showcase night the owner wanted the band to appear on the latest compilation Psychedelica 4. Previous compilations had seen bands such as Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels and The Lovetones to name a few – so the band were more than willing to be part of it. The label are now set to release the debut EP from The Medicine which will be out late 2011.
