BandRockAcoustic

My friends and I are The melomaniacs which we describe as a folk-rock band. Our familiar sound derives from catchy melodies and a typical pop formula. By utilizing improvisation and exploring a variety of genres we enjoy creating something interesting and new
Our mission is to reach out to people with our music and create a large loyal fan base of music lovers. We wish to make our music more accessible across the country. Also we would like to create a strong business relationship with venues in

Biography

The Band is: Nathan Foulon(guitar and vocals), Scott Cassidy (bass and backing vocals), David Lester (guitar and keys), and Garry Barratt (drums)

Our music highlights our love of and exposure to a multitude of musical genres. More specifically, our compositions blend folk, blues, rock, funk and reggae influences. We also do some improvisational ‘jamming’ to generate new ideas, but mostly just to enjoy the spontaneity of the process.

We want to assure our followers that many more songs are in the works and we will be performing and recording them very soon.

From Peterborough, Ontario, Nathan Foulon moved to Kingston, Ontario to attend St Lawrence College in 2004 for Digital Arts for Musicians. It was at St. Lawrence that Foulon met Cassidy and Lester. Barret became the most recent member of the four-piece after working alongside Foulon at a local music store, Center Stage Music.

After writing a number of songs and creating a demo, Foulon got the rest of his band mates to contribute their own ‘takes’ on his compositions. The band entered the studio with the intention of releasing a demo but emerged with a full-length album in 2010
The band plans to establish a loyal and interested fan base comprised of people with enthusiasm for music.

Lyrics

what we become

Written By: the melomaniacs

Lost in thought
The mind plays tricks on you
In your trust
I’m searching the darkness for light
Clear black night
The stars shine for miles and miles
In your eyes
I’m searching the darkness for life

Well you can wash away the world today
Take a picture for your mind to
Remember how it used to be
Before we came and tore it all down
Tore it all down
Well you can watch the world from your t.v
from your couch so fancy free
while she screams in misery
before we came and tore it all down
tore it all down
Well maybe you can lie to yourself
Pretend to be somebody else
I’m just a fool for having faith in you well I was wrong
Now look at what we have become

Lost in thought
The mind plays tricks on you
In your trust
I’m searching the darkness for light
Clear black night
The stars shine for miles and miles
In your eyes
I’m searching the darkness for life

Well you can wash away the world today
Take a picture for your mind to
Remember how it used to be
Before we came and tore it all down
Tore it all down
Well you can watch the world from your t.v
from your couch so fancy free
while she screams in misery
before we came and tore it all down
tore it all down

Well maybe you can lie to yourself
Pretend to be somebody else
I’m just a fool for having faith in you well I was wrong
Now look at what we have become

Clear black night
The stars shine for miles and miles
In your eyes
I’m searching the darkness for love

once before

Written By: the melomaniacs

Don’t, don’t you write
Your words cover lies like a mask with your eyes
I’ve read this once before
Don’t, don’t you touch
Your hands fool my heart till I feel you fall apart
I’ve felt this once before

And don’t you know that I wanted this one to hold
And don’t you know that I wanted this one to love
And don’t you know that I wanted this one to believe in
To believe

Don’t, don’t you cry
Your tears fall so much that they don’t mean a thing
I’ve held this once before
Don’t, don’t you speak
You’re acting out lines from a script that you read
I’ve seen this once before

And don’t you know that I wanted this one to hold
And don’t you know that I wanted this one to love
And don’t you know that I wanted this one to believe in
To believe

Don’t, don’t you write
Your words cover lies like a mask with your eyes
I’ve read this once before

it grows old

Written By: the melomaniacs

Hello
Remember me the way I always have been
Goodbye
For now until we learn what love means again

When love is young
Every day is always new
And the mornings feel like gold
When your love is real and true
it grows old with you

Hello
You seem so different from before
Goodbye
To those foolish dreams we had

When love is young
Every day is always new
And the mornings feel like gold
When your love is real and true
It grows old with you
Mistakes I cannot break hearts with ease like you
My love hasn’t gone no where it’s still right here
With you

Hello
You know me well but you’re no saint
Goodbye
For now until we learn what love means again

When love is young
Every day is always new
And the mornings feel like gold
When your love is real and true
It grows old with you

Instrumental break

When love is young
Every day is always new
And the mornings feel like gold
When your love is real and true
It grows old with you

guess you were right

Written By: the melomaniacs

Two packs of smokes
And a one way ticket out of town
These promises that I couldn’t keep
When you weren’t around
Although I was true
I just couldn’t bare to drag you through
Two days to go
And I’ll be swimming in the oceans coast

And I feel better now
And I feel much better on my own
And I feel better now
And I feel much better on the run
I’m sorry if I let you down
You said I’d break your heart
Well I guess you were right

Time after time
We fail to find some peace of mind
And love is so strange
But few of us know what it means
In each and every word
Lies the truth you want to hear some times

And I feel better now
And I feel much better on my own
And I feel better now
And I feel much better on the run
I’m sorry if I let you down
You said I’d break your heart
Well I guess you were right

It isn’t what you have brother
It’s who you got
They’ll hang you out to dry
So remember that
Guess you were right
