The Memphis West

ABOUT
The Memphis West is a band of hard working open minded friends, and the only thing that rivals their confidence is their humbleness. In October of 2006 they officially entered the live performance realm, and have since self booked over 100 shows in Canada. The band name comes from the incident that occurred in West Memphis Arkansas, most commonly referred to as the "West Memphis 3 tragedy". Although the events were both equally compelling and controversial, it's the sub-textual meaning that the band embraces and employs in everything they do. That message is the importance of embracing diversity, which is clearly present in their music and attitudes. Every live performance is filled with fun energy, and it is very evident these guys love what they do. The most common praise they receive is how tight they perform together, and it is no surprise that these guys have known each other personally before they even touched an instrument. As they matured as people, they grew as musicians together, and this bond is the drive and the secret to success for this hard working young act. Having overcome a highway vehicle collision and a surgery or two, it is clear that nothing has ever come easy for TMW. Some would call them crazy, but it's this admirable drive that defines them, and their fans really respect them because of it. Since October of 2006 they have earned their way to the stage with such bands as Ion Dissonance (EMI), Despised Icon (Century Media), Veil of Maya (Sumerian), After the Burial (Sumerian), Farewell to Freeway (Victory), Arise and Ruin (Victory), Beneath the Massacre (Prosthetic), and these are just a few worth mentioning. These guys never stay in one spot for too long and they are always pushing their music into uncharted territories. Their presence only grows and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon!
