Bio

Sex drives the Mercy Dolls.

They happily refer to themselves as a dysfunctional collective of music industry sluts. Visually each has their own style, and inherent drug and alcohol problems.

To help pay for these expensive habits (and associated counselling and hospital treatments), they have been smashing Brisbane stages, with their sexy and dirty rock for almost two years.

Their take on dark-wave alternative is best described as Grinspoon-style riffs, Pixies vocal dynamics, Sonic Youth textures on top of an unusual, raw but original vibe.

On-Stage Diva Miss Misery - thinks local underground luminaries like the Pineapples from the Dawn of Time and SixFtHick have a lot to answer for: "They fucked my mind, at a very early age, and then left my morals bleeding and broken in the gutter."

Having three highly competitive singers, makes any Mercy Dolls performance a brutal affair for spotlight operators.

Bass Siren Hitchcock Blonde - attributes their onstage-energy to the fact that: "As a band, we don't actually like each other. I have no respect for them and they don't for me. That makes it ok right?"

Gimp whipping, heckling, broken guitars, walk-offs, and audience cat fights are just another day in rock and roll paradise for the Mercy Dolls.

Manic Creative - Dylan Denial is more reserved when it comes to the quote "fucked-up girly smutty stuff" but knows that the Mercy Dolls are offering something different: "basically - anyone who doesn't like us can fuck off, or better yet, buy us a drink."

Within the band, tensions are on the rise, bills are unpaid and everyone is under pressure to perform or just get along.

One thing is for certain, you have to see the Mercy Dolls before one of them quits or dies trying.
