Bio
The MG42s are an original Canadian rock ‘n’ roll band from Calgary, Alberta who have been gigging at local venues since October 2009.
Kenny Vigar (guitar/vocals) and Luke Lightheart (guitar) jammed for a few years before developing their rhythm section by adding drummer Kelsey Baldwin. In 2010, a lineup change saw the addition of bassist Bryce Tymrick. From there, The MG42s solidified their current repertoire of music and created some new tunes that are sure to get your toes tapping.
The MG42s have something for every rock fan. Songs like ‘Good Time’ and ‘Simple Simon’ prove that this band is all about fast, fun, rock ‘n’ roll. The MG42s can also bring their groove with songs like ‘D.B. Cooper’ and ‘Nowhere To Go’. Fear not, western fan: They’ll get your feet stompin’ too with ‘Already in Hell’ and ‘Outlaw’.
The MG42s have played shows around town the last couple years and have refined their set. Venues played include The Blind Beggar, Tropicana, Radio Park, The Palomino, The Viper Room, and Verns Pub. The MG42s have been played on x929's Exposure, and have gigged with such bands as Cripple Creek Faeries, Twenty Centuries of Stony Sleep, Me Three, Bravado, and many more.
With a three-song demo under their belt, and a full-length album in production - The MG42s have no end in sight. Be prepared for new songs, new recordings, and plenty of belt-fed, air-cooled rock at a venue near you!
