Not long after his stint as the bajo-sexto player for the Grammy Award winning Texas Tornados in 2010, Guerra was hand-picked by Grammy Award winner Raul Malo to accompany him on a two-man tour (Guerra on the squeeze box/harmony vocals and Malo on guitar/vocals) that took him up and down the East and West Coasts, into Canada, overseas and, when that was over, turned around and did it again with Malo's full band.
Soon after, Malo released his 7th solo record "Sinners and Saints" in October of 2010 (which features Guerra on accordion) and the group again hit the road.
Recently, it was announced that the award winning group The Mavericks had agreed to reunite. Malo then asked Guerra to bring his accordion and other talents to the band and soon after Guerra began splitting his time between studios in San Antonio and in Nashville where the new Mavericks record is being recorded.
