The Mind Circus

The Mind Circus

BandRockSinger/Songwriter

A musically and lyrically diverse band of brothers that performs simplistic, minimilist songs along with over-the-top bombastic anthems comparable to any of the great arena-rock Super Groups.

Biography

The Mind Circus is a band whose influences range from all sorts of performing arts talents and acts. Whether a Marx Brothers-esque play on words or a multi-layered vocal harmony hearkening to the Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, and Queen, The Mind Circus demonstrates an enthralling display of music and performance.
...And they hold the unique distinction of being brothers.

Lyrics

Worthless

Written By: Eric

Iask you things
you challenge me
you ask me why
you’re always on my back

you need not stay
so go away
bye bye
it’s been a long long time
that I've known you

please do shut up
I’ve had enough
ship up or out
you must get away from here and leave

Now do us a favor
and cut your life short
so we have to see you never more
I’ll be the voice
of the whole world today and say
you’re a worthless, useless bore

stop talking please
listen to me
don’t waste my time
leave my presence right now

look around you
you're such a fool
you’ll see
everyone gets it but you
and guess what

I’m through with this
you and your shit
you’ve been around
leading so many fools

vindicated
you act like it’s a game
but it doesn't seem that fun to me

so do us a favor
and cut your life short
so we have to see you never more
I’ll be the voice
of the whole world today and say
you’re a worthless, useless bore

I see your eyes
they’re staring wide
you look at me
and I see right through you

I hate your face
your lifeless gaze
and I want to see this world
be rid of you

... so do us a favor...

Grown Up

Written By: Eric

So you're all grown up,
have I got news for you:
That mansion you've been planning on has a roommate and one bedroom.
Your supermodel wife is a poster you kiss every night so you're not quite so blue.
And even your sports car, it seems, isn't quick or shiny, or red, or new.
Oh, you’re wasted all the time.

So you're all grown up. Hey, welcome to your world “son”.
Only party on weekends ‘cause with 9 to 5 there's not much time for fun.
Once or twice per year to concerts, anyway all “new” bands blow.
And all of your hopes and your dreams are forgotten, gone, believe me it shows.
Oh, you’re washed up, given in.

So you're all grown up, and you've got news for me.
You're gray and smoking cigars now. You know too much for your own good, see:

"Little boy you'll grow up quick and before you know it, you are me.
Learn from the rut I've fallen in and maybe you will break free.”
Oh, I’ve got hope. I just need time.

Rock & Roll

Written By: Eric

I want to tell everyone of you of how my life it has been changed.
What an awesome way for me to explain all the things I’ve learned ‘till now.

Listening to you all night and day you'll say everything I want to hear.
The world now ignores the sounds that we knew as music way back then.

Rock and roll music
Rock and roll music’s gone
Rock and roll music
Rock and roll music’s dead

And I don’t like that.

Desolation Park

Written By: Eric

Can you help me, I seem to have fallen and I think I can't get up In my small cell I feel I'm secluded but I want to stand and get out

Please come and get me out

Come and get me out of Desolation Park
I hope you'll see
there is a light in this heart
Set me free!
Get me out of Desolation Park

Do you know why
I spend good time away
in the wasteland I have made?
Loss of cash and words
I gave up money
in hope to gain what I'm without

Please come and get me out

Come and get me out of Desolation Park
I hope you'll see
there is a light in this heart.
Set me free!
Get me out of Desolation Park.

In Desolation Park
they throw you
up against a wall and tell you
”You'll be lucky
when you're dead and gone.”
I've got too much to prove
to me, myself, and I
and so you'll have to beat me there
I'll meet you when I'm done.

Smile

Written By: Blake

It’s been a winding, winding road…
I feel fine.
How are you?

Guess what! We’re okie-dokie!
“Glub-glub”, the fish in the sea agree that life is swimming.

It’s been a winding, winding road…
I feel fine.
How are you?

Smile.

Just smile.

In It For Fun

Written By: Eric

Go to the sun
Fall from the moon
Count down to one
Then gone too soon

Enjoy your trip
Hope you have fun

Beware of hip
And quarrelsome

Journey from there
And please take me
I don’t care where
We need to flee

Pleasure for life
Is what we need to have
Away with strife
And don’t feel bad

Hope you had fun

You don’t want me
I’m not supreme
Importantly
Have attached strings

Did you have fun
By your lonesome
Another bum
Count down to one

Up in the sky
Untouchable
Feeling so high
Feeling invulnerable

Away I walk
Do not be scared
Though I don’t talk
I really care

Hope you had fun
Hope you have fun
