An unlucky accident…

Inspired by Super Dave and the Mishaps, this motley band of rock n’ rollers are anything but unlucky. Born out of the ashes of “The Mishaps - version 1”, this dynamic quintet is quickly developing a reputation for reliably reproducing upbeat, danceable rock n’ roll. Great grooves, loud guitars, and wonderful harmonies are the focus of this newest incarnation of The Mishaps, and they do not disappoint.

Fronted by veterans Dave Melin of 'Tailspin' and '5Shy' fame, and Aussie Leah Beier of Melbourne’s perennial party band 'Pure Logic', The Mishaps cover a much broader reach of musical genres than most party bands. Beier leads the band effortlessly through 80’s pop/rock and modern pop hits while Melin covers the classics to ensure a great evening of rock n’ roll. Rounding out the band is founding guitar player Jeremy Dan Kornel, Clarke Kruger on bass guitar and drummer Leonardo Gonzalez.

Whilst The Mishaps may be in tune with covering those catchy party favorites, much of the attention eventually focuses on Beier, a graduate of the acclaimed David Jaanz School of Singing in Australia. Beier’s charm is appropriate for the spotlight. She's held many a crowd in the palm of her hand and has a charisma that lights up a room.

Beier is not alone in the love of being on stage. Dave Melin and Kornel instituted the original lineup in 2007 simply out of not having anything else to play. They wanted to play their guitars and they wanted to play for crowds of people. Kornel insists the band is simply about “…having fun and playing rock n’ roll.” Melin takes a different viewpoint but admits it ultimately means the same thing in the end. “When I get on stage in front of a crowd it’s bigger than any high you get from booze or weed.”

Now, with a solid evening’s worth of party songs, The Mishaps are ready to explode onto the Western Canada Music Scene and leave their mark. They cover a great selection of songs and radiate enough energy to keep any party firing long into the night.
