Bio
In 2000, lead guitarist Paul Abney and drummer Mike Tash were playing in praise and worship band Soul’d Out with then lead singer Steve Cleckner. When Steve accepted a new job in Florida, the band started looking for a new front man. Mike received the name of Chris Runnels through an associate and started a dialogue with Chris about the band and his role as front man. Once Chris joined the band, a new vision started to emerge. The decision was made in 2003 to form The Mission. The new band would give Paul and Mike and outlet for their original songs and, with Chris on lead vocals, keys and guitar, could achieve a whole new level. The Mission has performed in a wide variety of venues including Church Festivals, Community Events and several Concert Series in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. In 2005, experienced bass player Donny Burton joined The Mission. The popularity of The Mission has continued to grow as an original and inspiring rock band. The Mission hopes to complete recording their debut album “Never Too Far” this year while performing 3-4 dates per month during the 2006-2007 tour entitled “Coming Home.”
