"Performing Songwriter Magazine"

"A veteran of the San Francisco area singer-songwriter circuit, Mitchelle Tanner recorded her debut CD over a period of two years. With the help of several generous financial supporters (whose names are listed in the liner notes), Tanner has come up with a collection of adult-contemporary pop songs presented in deftly-crafted, sometimes lush, arrangements.
"Centered on Tanner’s fine acoustic guitar work and expressive, slightly tremulous voice, Dawn of the Night Flyers zigzags gracefully between girl-with-guitar balladry, full-on folk rockers, and light pop ditties.
"Getting assistance from several empathetic backing players (most notably, multi-instrumentalist and co-producer Kevin Harris), Tanner employs subtle touches of violin, electric guitar, brushed percussion, and nuanced drum programming to create a song cycle that uplifts the spirit at every turn. Indeed, when Tanner sings on “Queen of the Land” that she has “made a castle from a bed of sand,” she’s in effect cheering herself with a theme that runs throughout this superb debut." - Staff

"CMAP Music International"

"Diverse, emotional, sultry and smooth are just a few words that could be used to describe Mitchelle Tanner.
"In an Indie world overflowing with talented female singer songwriters, Mitchelle stands a full head above the crowd. Her songwriting is not only fresh and creative, it has a nice sharp edge that only adds to it's appeal.
"The emotional levels expressed in her vocals are at once satin smooth and instictively raw - she knows just where to place the emotional emphasis in her tunes to give the most impact.
"This album is well produced, the content is creative and full of originality, and her performance and that of the accompanying artists is all pro. This is an artist I will be keeping an eye on. Which I suspect with a little promotion will be easy to do cause people will be talking." - Bobby Bensley

"Agouti Music"

"If this is what you're into (singer/songwriter not-Ani genre), you'll love the latest from Mitchelle Tanner...
"Human voice-instrumentalization is used in many positive ways on this album. I do not know why, but it just really perks me when I hear the whispering on 'Into the Deep' and, especially, 'Doors of the World.' For me, 'Doors of the World' is better than coffee. If my alarm clock (actually an old cellular phone, for those keeping score) had the whispering from this song instead of beeping, I would get to work so fast in the morning that I would still be wearing pajamas when I got there, and I don't even wear pajamas.
"So yeah, me likey this album a lot. It's not depressing, as these albums can often be, and it has some songs that make the rest of the album invincible to criticism. And it's an album that the whole family can enjoy. It's harmless, but not fluff." - Joel Edelman
