The Mike Messer Band

Singer/songwriter Mike Messer is known for his uniquely stylized performances and songs that have touched the souls of his fans in New York City, where he's been a popular staple on the scene for years, and nationally through his vibrant performances on HBO, CBS, MTV, Fox News Channel and the ever-popular SESAME STREET. As the frontman for the Mike Messer Band (endorsed by Gibson guitars) he has developed a sound that has been described as “passionate, epic” (XM radio) “a cross between Paul Simon and Tom Petty” with “Funny, evocative lyrics, and beautiful melodies that are seldom what you may expect”. Mike’s songwriting partners include Chris Barron, the Grammy nominated lead singer of the SPIN DOCTORS, and Ty Taylor, of CBS’s Rock Star INXS.

Messer is also the the lead singer and principal songwriter of the Dirty Sock Funtime Band, “the first real rock band for kids” (FOX News). Praised as “the most exciting and innovative children’s music ever” by MTV, Nickelodeon’s offshoot channel Noggin plays their videos daily, making Mike and the band household icons to kids and young parents nationwide. With the DSFB Mike has sold out venues as legendary and diverse as Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, NYC’s Symphony Space and NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center. But even before that, Mike Messer was no stranger to the national audience. He was the lead singer on the British Rock Symphony Tour, where he shared the stage with the late, great Rock and Soul legend Billy Preston. He’s performed concerts all over the US and US territories, and toured internationally as the lead in the rock musical HAIR.

Drumming sensation Uwe Petersen came to the music world’s attention as the house drummer for the popular German TV show THE KNOFF HOFF SHOW, and went on to be the drummer for the R&B supergroup SUPERCHARGE, which toured from one end of Europe to the other for over 5 years. Uwe is the drummer in the Dirty Sock Funtime Band. In the very short time that he has been in New York, he has gained the respect and admiration of the New York City music community, playing and recording with the B.B. King band, and New Orleans legend Dr. John. Uwe is endorsed by Ludwig drums, Vater sticks and Zildjan cymbals.

Aussie wunderkind Jasper Leak’s groovy, in-the-pocket-style has made him one of the most sought after bas players in the New York City scene. He is the bassist in the Dirty Sock Funtime Band, and has toured the United States as the bass player for singer/songwriter Marc Broussard, selling out the House of Blues in both LA and Chicago, as well as NYC’s Irving Plaza.
