The Moats
Far from being an industry driven, take-themselves-too-seriously scene band, the boys in The Moats are all about having fun. From their music to their website to their bios, everything about the Moats tells listeners that they are in for a good time. Calling to mind such retro acts like The Police and The Cars, every song makes a listener want to dance. Vocals and harmonies between members make up a huge part of the music; these boys know how to sing.

The Moats have a huge local following, and have even made appearances on television in the area. Several months ago, they recorded a full length CD titled Blazin’ the Blazer, which is available for purchase on their website. The quartet is made up of Than Arnold on keyboard and vocals, Matt Herron on guitar and vocals, Mike Hurst on Drums, and Damon Kardon on bass. - playphilly.com

Bio

The Moats are a four-piece originals/covers rock band hailing from Philly. The band's music style is a mix of Rock and Synth Pop. Some influences include such bands as The Cars, Men at Work, Soundgarden, Yes, Steely Dan, Rush, and Led Zeppelin. The Moats consist of four high school friends who began playing music together over 15 years ago. Over the years and even through times of separation, they have continued to play together when the opportunity presented. Most recently, The Moats' initiative and hard work have gained them performances in the local Philly area, participation in the Emergenza Festival, and an original debut album.
