TMJ sings traditional Jewish prayers set to modern Rock with World percussion and 5-part vocal harmonies.
Originally started as a small "Havarah" (friendship circle), The Moody Jews consists of 6 talented and diverse men who mix Jewish liturgy with family-friendly fun, quality musicianship and 5-part vocal harmonies. Cantor Steve's stage presence (lead singer) is unmatched, an asset gained from his earlier days on Broadway. Lead guitarist Nick Edelstein has supported and/or shared the stage with international artists Kevin Spencer ("Rent"), Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow), Yonrico Scott (Derek Trucks), Kevn Kinney (DrivinN'Cryin) and many more.
TMJ's lyrics are mostly Hebrew, but can sing all-English or all-Hebrew upon request. Lyric-sheets are available for sing-a-long shows. Let TMJ take your heritage to a new level: "Spirituality with Soul!"
