"The Moon and Her Mother - AbsolutePunk.net"

From start to finish, this 11-song collection is spacey, ambient and airy. That it is also personal, poignant and powerful makes it all the better.... The city of Chicago just might have something special on its hands. - absolutepunk.net

Bio

The Moon and Her Mother takes indie rock sensibilities and pop melodies to produce music that keeps you listening. Atmospheric sounds and intimate storytelling are just the basics for the talented emerging band. In this organic and self-produced effort, the undertones of The Moon and Her Mother’s roots become apparent with Spoon, Andrew Bird, M. Ward, and Oasis all percolating beneath the surface.

The band began as a project-moniker of Aaron Wallace while living in Los Angeles. Aaron loved to write music but never had a platform. He walked into serendipity as his roommate at the time was signed to a local record label. Aaron recorded a cover of one his roommate’s songs and it happened to land in the hands of the CEO of the label. His very own contract ensued and Aaron was soon on a plane to Chicago where he began tirelessly recording his debut album. Soon after the album was released, a band was formed, and live music began to be played. The Moon and Her Mother has recently released its debut self-titled album on L.A. label Authentik Artists. Music from the album has been featured on MTV’s “The Real World”, VH1’s “My Big Friggin’ Wedding”, and ABC’s “The Gates”. The music video for “The Red Dove” was featured on AOL’s Spinner Video of the Day. The album is available at Amazon, Itunes, and Emusic.
