"On the first day of Eurosonic Noorderslag The MOOod is the tip of the iceberg and stands before a half filled venue. The audience has to get started a bit. The band won't be blown off the field and enthousiastic they play the indie/garage songs from their demo. A full album will appear around summer 2009. All of a sudden a cameraman makes his way through the crowd and he turns out to be from MTV.

After the gig the band is happy to answer some questions. Vocalist Marius Moise shows (typical Romanian?) courtesy with a handkiss. After that the other bandmembers introduce themselves: Bogdan Spirea (drums), Mircea Voloh (guitar) and Horia Stere (bass). MTV's camera's turn out to be following The MOOoD together with ProFM, a big Romanian radiostation.

But how big is the band in their home country? "It is starting to show. The band emerged in 2006. Only since two years the climate for bands has improved and musicfestivals are set up. In 2008 we had to perform at the second edition of B'estfest, the biggest festival in Romania. Headliners were Kaiser Chiefs and Nelly Furtado."
In his enthousiasm he names another ten. "In summer 2008 we were also the opening act for Lenny Kravitz in Bucharest!"

Seems they are well on the way, these four guys. According to their managar there have been enough interesting looks during Eurosonic Noorderslag, and they are grateful for this oppurtunity to introduce themselves to the Dutch crowd."

"Eurosonic Festival 2009"

"I have also seen the entire performance of The MOOoD (yes, with 3 o's), who are coming from Romania. This indierock band was very nervous before the show, as there wasn't anyone attending the show, and they thought no one would be. Surprisingly to them, the place of 'de Beurs' was filled up decently and they put down a show with super catchy tunes.
Without any concerns they handed out some cd's after the show so 'The MOOoD' partially will stay in the Netherlands. I have to admit that I heard of them before on Myspacce, but now they really convinced me of what they can. They are not 'just another' indieband."

"EUROSONIC 2009 DEEL II"

"One of the first bands that played on the festival was the Romanian band The MOOod. When they eventually started the place in bar de Beurs has filled up nicely, in great relief for the band. A rockband with wild and dance-able songs throwing an amazing performance. Different songs and a unique voice make this a band where we want to hear more from.
If we can believe their myspace, they already started on new material, which I am definitly getting from stores."

Bio

The MOOoD is an alternative-rock band from Bucharest, Romania consisting of Marius Moise (lead singer), Bogdan Spirea (drums, backing vocals), Mircea Voloh (guitar, backing vocals) and Horia Stere (bass guitar). During their (admittedly rather short, but constantly improving) time playing around the country, The MOOoD performed on the same stage with some of the most relevant established rock bands in Romania. Their concerts have steadily grown in size, culminating with a performance at B'ESTFEST (Romania's largest international festival, headlined in 2008 by Kaiser Chiefs, Alanis Morisette, Cypress Hill and Manu Chao) and opening for Lenny Kravitz's show in Bucharest in front of a 16.000 plus audience!

The four members made their debut on the international stage in January, this year, at one of the biggest European showcase festivals – Eurosonic Festival in Holland. The MOOoD is the first Romanian band presented at Eurosonic Festival and their performance was an incredible success.

Also this year, the tracks “Hey” and “Back In The Shop” were included in some TV commercials soundtrack for Samsung (Olympic Games campaign) and Vodafone (Valentines Day campaign).
