Bio
As most bands from the Midwest are usually trying to get out of the Midwest the Columbus, OH based band The Moving Parts are proud to lay their roots in central Ohio. Singer/songwriter Keith Jenkins holds firm to his belief that if you are making good music people will find it no matter where you are at. Starting the band in 2006 as a side project from his full time gig in the Stepford Five, Jenkins released a 5 song EP with some stripped down yet polished pop rock songs recorded mostly in his Clintonville apartment on a laptop. As Stepford decided to call it quits Jenkins felt he had a strong foundation to build off the well received EP. Over the next few years the band became a revolving door of musicians but in 2009 the band finally started to take on a more consistent line up and headed into Columbus’s Relay Recording to start work on their first full length album with producer Jon Fintel. The result is a collection of ten songs aptly titled State Lines. The songs illustrate the very Midwestern mentality that the band calls home. Romantic, reflective and content would best way describe the songs on this record just like the band itself. “We are a pop rock band in a punk rock town but we are very proud of that” quips Jenkins.
