International Grand Illusionist The Mr. Magic

Audiences and critics around the world have enjoyed the award-winning magic and illusions of Mr. Magic, the world's most celebrated African American Magician of our time was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Graduating from Berkeley Senior High School in 1977. Mr. Magic developed an interest in magic at a very young age. He started at the age of 8 with little magic tricks found inside cereal boxes. His father saw his interest in magic and bought him his first magic set. What his father saw as a hobby turned into a full-time obsession with his son. After years of practice and numerous opening acts, club shows, and benefits, Mr. Magic's first triumph occurred in 1984 when he totally astounded his audience of 3,500 unbelieving spectators with his famous floating / vanishing cigarette effect. In 1987, they were treated to a re-created version of Houdini's trunk escape (Metamorphosis) performed in a record breaking time of 2.3 seconds. His phenomenal performance on the Sammy Davis Jr. Telethon in 1990 pushed his career even further when the master illusionist caused his lovely wife, Deva, to mysteriously float in mid-air, and without warning vanish into thin air. "Now that's magic!" said acclaimed actor / VP V.J. Dickson.In 1994 Mr. Magic and Deva performed in Atlanta to a celebrity crowd at the Cope, event club owners private entertainment group. After the show the illusionist duo was approached by Mr. Tank Sims about a Black Circus, The Universoul Big Top Circus. Owner and CEO, Ricky Walker, had been searching from Vegas to Paris trying to find an African American magician / illusionist, but to no avail. Mr. Magic was introduced to the owner, and was set to tour with the Universoul Big Top Circus in the most critical position - the opening act. Mr. Magic was hailed by critics around the world as the definitive opening act, the spark to a never ending flame of astonishing illusions. 1994, 1996, and 1997 proved to be the most celebrated years ever to hit the circus arena.
