Biography

In 1999, Ashley ditched Corporate America for the romance of Southern California’s surf and sun. Ashley not only became entrenched in the surf culture but he also began an intense love affair with music. The South African-born artist, who first picked up a guitar at the age of 19, emerged from San Diego’s music scene in January 2005 with his much-acclaimed debut album “Twelve Days in January.”

Ashley has been described by critics and the media as having an “unforgettable voice and hook-laden songs,” while his album has been called a “deceptively ingenious melodic modern rock debut.” Ashley’s diverse musical influences include Pink Floyd, John Lennon, Neil Finn of Crowded House, Matthew Sweet, Smashing Pumpkins, Neil Young, Mozart, and British alternative pop band Travis.

Ashley, who has played in clubs throughout Southern California, has delighted his fans with his rich melodies, arresting vocals and genuine lyrics, with songs such as “Come Into Love,” “Life So Ordinary,” and “LA.”

In January 2005, Ashley over drafted his bank account to enter “Come Into Love” in a Best Rock Song contest sponsored by VH-1’s Save the Music Foundation. Ashley, who only had $30 to his name at the time, scored the top slot and was entered into the Song of the Year contest.

Ashley has played with noted artists such as John Mayer, Jason Mraz, the Gin Blossoms, Etta James, Evan Dando of the Lemonheads, and Maria McKee. Ashley, who put himself through college by playing his guitar in the subways of Toronto, has been featured on numerous Southern California radio and TV shows.

Ashley’s music will also hit the airwaves during a handful of MTV reality shows next season, including “The O.C.,” “Laguna Beach,” and “The Real World,” as well as in a UPN series called “Upscale TV,” which will begin in January 2006. Ashley’s much anticipated tour is expected to kick off in early 2006.

Lyrics

Come Into Love

Written By: ASHLEY

There's a sign on the road a warning to you
That your coming into love and your gonna get used
Though you try to look away you and hide from the truth
Your just standing on the road getting used

Your coming, coming into love
Coming, coming into love
Coming, your coming into love

Well you wake up in the morning and your staring at love
She's just staring back at you and it feels so right
Though you try to look away and hide from the truth
Your just standing on the road take the abuse

Your coming, coming into love
Coming, coming into love
Coming, your coming into love

I'll feel the tidal wave, it rolls over me everyday
I often ask the question why we stay together

I don't believe in you, you don't believe in me
I can't live in this misary

There's a sign on the road a warning to you

That your coming into love and your gonna get used
Though you try to look away you and hide from the truth
Your just standing on the road getting used

Your coming, coming into love
Coming, coming into love
Coming, your coming into love

Weight Of Emotion

Written By: ASHLEY

Alibi situated right between the eyes of what you onestly believe

Can't decide which one of the two you'd rather be with then just generally fall asleep
Made your choice and now I'm feeling second best
I am lying I'm naked I love you

Send me a line with a weight of emotion
Maybe then we will dance
Send me that line and I'll take that emotion
Strangled and in demand I'm strangled in demand

Can't believe the prick of a thorn could hurt so deep as the blood rushes down to my knee
All I know I do not think it's possible to bleed blood from a cold old rolling stone
All I want we'll all I really wants to be with you I am lying I'm naked I love you

Send me a line with a weight of emotion
Maybe then we will dance
Send me that line and I'll take that emotion
Strangled and in demand I'm strangled in demand

Demand, strangled
I'm glowing I'm glowing now I'm glowing
And it's all that I say and it's all that I weight and it's all that I want in the end

Send me a line with a weight of emotion
Maybe then we will dance
Send me that line and I'll take that emotion
Strangled and in demand I'm strangled in demand

Were strangled in demand, I am strangled in demand
Just a little bit, strangled

Fallen In Front Of You

Written By: ASHLEY

Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Wondering if you’re their thinking about me too
Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Wondering what it’s like to be near you
Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Wondering what it’s like to touch you
Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Wondering what it’s like to be inside of you

Falling, Falling
I’m Falling in front of you

Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Remembering what it’s like to be with you
Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Remembering what it’s like to have pass life with you
Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Remembering what it’s like to chase you
Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Remembering what it’s like to be in love with you

Falling, Falling
I’m Falling in front of you

Cause I’m just sitting here thinking about you
Wondering if you’re their thinking about me too

Falling, Falling
I’m Falling in front of you
