Bio
If you take the time to listen to The Music Team’s debut CD, Jupiter Salazar, it won’t be long until you’ll have many of the songs stuck in your head. Existing in a musical realm somewhere between Ryan Adams and Guided by Voices, The Music Team excel at crafting songs that sound like they’ve always existed. They are just as comfortable releasing a simple ballad featuring only a voice and a guitar, as they are more rocking tunes. This is not a shtick, nor is it a philosophy – it’s just the way it is.
Led by the songwriting efforts of David Croft, The Music Team gathered in Vancouver to record Jupiter Salazar during 2008. The album was recorded in the ‘anything goes’ basement recording studio of members Cameron Catalano and Brandon Hoffman. Rounded out by drummer Sydney Beagle, the musicians went for an authentic feel, recording most of the guitar, bass and drum parts live. More details were later added by the likes of Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo, Wilco, Neko Case).
