"The Valley Advocate"

The Truth Doesn't Have To Hurt:
Often deemed the best rock vocalist in the Pioneer Valley, Callie Katsounakis is the lead singer for Electric Blue and the Kosmik Truth . Described once as "at times having more of an air about her than Janis Joplin," Katsounakis leads this band with her soulful, powerful, bluesy voice and is a staunch supporter of the local music scene. She told the Union News in August of 2000 "I think it's important to support the scene, but I don't see as many bands as I'd like to. I will say though, that I will not ever support tribute bands with my dollar."
Listening to a dynamite band like the Truth makes you wonder why indeed, anyone would. They started out their journey as a regularly slated band on the hippie bill, often playing with the dreddie devotion-inspiring Deep Banana Blackout and have since enjoyed a bit of fame by opening for Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers and sharing the stage with the likes of Max Creek and the North Mississippi Allstar Band.

Electric Blue and the Kosmik Truth will be on hand at Harry's Music Club in Northampton to entertain and uplift us with their self-described "blues-saturated jam rock" -- in which you can also discern traces of funk, reggae, bluegrass, jazz and psychedelia.
