The Mystrals

The Mystrals

BandPopRock

The Mystrals are an all-female folksy, rootsy, bluesy and ryhthmic pop/rock band.

Biography

When we first heard "Mystral Wind" (recorded live) on "Heart's Greatest Hits-Live" album, we thought this is name we want for our band. The dynamics used in the performance of that song, the strange haunting melody, the passion....this was an ideal we strived for in the creation of our own music. Our Influences? Many... Led Zepplin, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, and 60's and 70's psychadelic rock and soul. WE have a female perspective that doesn't ape the physical muscular male rock, but expresses a 'feminine" power that is both emotional and perhaps, on occasion even violent, as well as soft and gentle.

Riches to Rags

Riches to Rags
Copyright 1992 Acoustic Perfume Music
Performed by the Mystrals on “A Step Down for Luxury”

You can’t say what the future will bring
Fortune’s won and lost with your name's familiar ring
And you can't stay in the limelight forever
It’s been too long since you were with it and there's a fool born every minute

Chorus: It's a long way down from your limousine to the underground and riches to rags. Riches to rags and it's a long way home from the known to the unknown and riches to rags riches to rags

Once a jester was a king for a day he gave the beggars horses and watched them ride away while his servants waited on his every wish they were granted as he spoke until his dream went up in smoke...it disappeared

Chorus
repeat chorus (last lines changed to: and It's a long way home when you're goin' there alone)

Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith

Performed by the Mystrals on “A Step Down for Luxury”

my tires are worn and my coat is torn but the cold wind blows outside
The sun is risin’ in my rear view mirror as fast as I can drive
And so I close my eyes --- for a song
I tune the station in but the reception dimmed
‘cuz the radio wasn’t on

we went from warm into a thunderstorm
The cloudbursts filled the night
It rained the month of February, the sun stayed out of sight
And so I closed my eyes for a kiss --- and my love was blind before I cared to find
that he had opened his

Chorus: When I don’t know which step to take
I guess I’ll have to make a Leap of Faith

My plans were made, my soul enslaved I watched those days go by
Now lovers feed me hunger when their love won’t satisfy
And so I close my eyes for a prayer - if God gives a sign to an open mind, then I saw something there

Chorus: When I don’t know which step to take
I guess I’ll have to make a Leap of Faith
When I don’t know which step to take
I guess I’ll have to make a Leap of Faith
When I don’t know which step to take - which step to take

I guess I’ll have to make a Leap of Faith
