Bio

Based in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, Nailbiters is a working project formed in summer '05 around the songs of singer/songwriter David Tucker. Originally from Chicago, David played around the NYC open mike scene starting in 2005. After recording a demo,"Backlit" at Little Pioneer Studios, he brought aboard drummer Drew Stoga and jazz keyboardist James Clark. They recorded the album "No Forwarding Address" recorded at Brooklyn's Seaside Lounge, where The New Pornographers, Beirut, and Antibalas have put together albums.

Nailbiters have played around New York City, including the Mercury Lounge, the Knitting Factory and other NYC clubs. With David Tucker's red-blooded baritone and darker-side-of-the-heart lyrics, the music has been compared to Smog, Silver Jews, Wilco, and Bishop Allen.
