For a first outing, no effort is wasted nor is there any misstep to be heard on this debut EP. Space, Place, and Time is a concise yet condensed showcase… - Bucket Full of Nails
"...The Naked Sun led off the evening with "Don't Act Like Your Heart Isn't Hard," starting soft (as many did that night), amping up - and crashing into David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust," on the Thin White Duke's birthday."

“The Naked Sun…offer tender love songs that effectively transcend the idea of ‘honesty.’ Their sound is nothing short of vulnerable.” - WXPN'S the Key (Philly Local Music Blo)
...Toy Soldiers, The Districts, Levee Drivers, The Lawsuits, and Sean Hoots were another piece of the puzzle that made this lineup read like a hall-of-fame of current local artists in Philly. The Naked Sun, Penrose, New Sweden, Up the Chain, Chris Kasper, Andrew Lipke, Modern Inventors, Perserverance Jazz Band, and Rich Mystics (a new NICOS GUN side project) rounded out the group. - Swollenfox.com
South Jersey-bred five-piece The Naked Sun also turned in a great showing to finish as a close second. Their act is a shuffling roots-rock boogie tightly punctuated by hummable saxophone lines, snappy rhythms and an energetic delivery – perfect late-summertime jams, ideal for dancing in the outdoors. Kind of made me wish we were holding this competition just across the way at Penn Park. (An idea for next year, Beta Hi Fi?) Both Riley Road and The Naked Sun won packages that included gear gift cards from Sam Ash, studio time and slots at the Dewey Beach Music Festival in Deleware. - The Key

Bio
Named after the Isaac Asimov novel that encourages free thinking, social awareness, and genuine, human relationships, The Naked Sun is a four-piece rock band based out of Philadelphia. Its members grew up within minutes of each other on the Jersey side of the Delaware River, but they didn’t come together as a band until January of 2012, when singer/songwriter Drew Harris left Baltimore and his “streetgrass” project called Cityslides for the burgeoning roots rock scene in South Philadelphia. The band released a demo in May of that year and played several key performances that established them quickly in the local music scene, including World Café Live’s Beta Hi-Fi Emerging Music Festival, the Dewey Beach Music Conference, and an appearance on WXPN’s The Key Studio Sessions. They released their debut EP, Space, Place, and Time in April 2013.
