"Spaghettifest 5 Blurb"

Intelligent pop rock is personified by The Nationwide - Seth Casana

"Review of 'Girl Like You'"

...If I was cruising 'round town to get some errands done, and wanted to forget my troubles for a while, it is this kind of a song I'd want blaring out of my speakers.

This is a good morning song, makes me feel good. Good old rock and roll.

"98 Rock Interview"

I love this song (Underground)...the lyrics are great..its a fun song, its got a great driving beat! - Todd McNamara, 98 ROCK

"Review of 'The Recruiter'"

This song couldn't be more timely and made me wonder why there aren't more songs commenting about the state of the world in more interesting ways than, "the world's a messy place", etc.

It's uptempo, melodic foundation belies its pointed message -as is always the case with the more intelligent and witty political bands. Much like the Dead Kennedys and Bad Religion, there's a strong tunefullness laced with a caustic irony. - Garage Band

"Review of 'Stealing The Souls Of The Amish'"

...a rocking tune that'd kick the shit out of the Counting Crowes.

I really like the guitar tone of the intro. The recording in general reminds me of Elvis Costello.

In a good way!

There's a little bit of punk energy but I also detect some bookishness; I can imagine the guys in this band jamming in white starched shirts with Superman comic books lying near their amps.

Bio

The Nationwide, a group of skinny-tie connoisseurs and a pop-rock/pop-punk band from Harrisonburg, VA, is known for writing original songs with lyrics that ‘Make You Go Hmmm’ and playing the covers that their fans had forgotten they loved. Drawing
comparisons to Elvis Costello with a bit more edge, the power quartet brings a danceable energy to their rock with originals such as ‘Stealing The Souls Of The Amish’ or ‘Girl Like You’ and their takes on such classics as David Bowie’s ‘Young Americans’ or
Wham!’s ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’.

The Nationwide has appeared at Spaghettifest 4 and 5 (http://www.spaghettifest.com), has twice played for crowds of over 1,000 people at 98 Rock’s Last Band Standing competition, both times finishing as finalists. The band has been together for almost three years, playing in the Northern Virginia/DC area as well as the major college cities in Virginia and plans to be branching out even more in 2008.
