Biography

The Navajo Project is an emotionally charged hard rock band out of Montreal. The band consists of four members and has been compared to bands like Incubus, Pearl Jam and Muse.

In 2007, the band independently produced and promoted their full-length album Community, through live shows in Quebec and Ontario, videos, photoshoots, radio interviews and online social networks. The records design and concept came together with the collaboration of many independent Montreal artists, and was thus entitled Community. The band now presents a six-song EP entitled Luz, in which the band sought to emphasize their live feel.

The band is currently looking for representation. Over the next year, they will be promoting Luz, and will continue to perform live and write songs.

Lyrics

Soothe

Written By: Michel Lafrance

I’m not shaken by the end of my time
But this time could offend me
There isn’t the strength enough to carry on
All the years solitary
I am consumed by the thought of it
That I could lose you

I need you to soothe me

You’re right here next to me and I already suffer missing you
All I can think of all is you gone to this world
And even if I strain to mask it now
I need to hear that you will be alright

You’re lying right there
This skin is so fragile
Soothe me
I can never an island
You gotta soothe me
Just say

yeah just say
you’re here, just say
Yeah you’re here and you’ll stay

The Light

Written By: Michel Lafrance

Picture this a scene she asks if all actors are the same
There she goes beyond the edge you wonder if it’s worth potential pain
I guess you’re calling out to form a shell and calm the nasty fall
Cause lalala she walks beyond your sight you let her go now close the door

I see the light that can be discovered
You try to explain to me this light and it is just
So inappropriate
When it’s cold this dish is tasteless

So now you wanna try to be the informer
You can always tell it like you’re wise
But you don’t know the ends
But you’re gonna treat it like you do
Cause experience is over yeah it’s overrated
But you don’t know the ends
Don’t you tell me what the light is
I am there and you’re still without unaware beggar

You try to reason love, you try to manage love
You try to relate and substantiate what you have met in the dark
I don’t want this lesson you’ve not been properly tested and
When you need to defend yet still insist that it’s real it’s just
So inappropriate
If you don’t know, if you don’t already know, then you don’t

Know, you don’t know
The Ends, the ends
Then you don’t you try to tell you’re right
Cause baby you’re wrong
I am in the light and I’ve been for so long

So now you wanna try to be the informer
You can always tell it like you’re wise
But you don’t know the ends
But you’re gonna treat it like you do
Cause experience is over yeah it’s overrated
But you don’t know the ends
Don’t you tell me what the light is
I am there and you’re still without unaware beggar

You Spark

Written By: Michel Lafrance

It’s just sound
You’re making it murder to listen to reason and finally make a sighted decision
But you can stay the term
Only if you give your hand
So shut the fuck up and comply if you two want to stick around

It’s not just sound this sound

Sent to mud and cloud
Could you show a little respect
Now senses are aroused
We can finally have some peace
And in the fallout we could finally let the animosity cease
(Sent to cloud, enrage the night)

It’s act II
And the insanely irritating pattern survives you know exactly you’re doing
But in the end you will reap just what you sow

You said it is only at 1 percent
It’s never that
That’s enough anonymity
I’ll be far beyond what you’ll ever see
You said it is only at 1 percent
Consider that we all have the right to serenity
And a restful room yeah did you find it huh?
(said only at one percent, sanity)

Just be yourself
And this place will blow
We’ve seen control, we know, you set the rage
You spark and we explode

Sent to mud and cloud
Could you show a little respect
Heal scars on you
Senses are aroused
We can finally have some peace
And in the fallout we could finally let the animosity cease

Consider that we all have the right to peace
And we can finally let this hatred cease

Sign it!

Illumination

Written By: Michel Lafrance

It’s taxing when you can sense the mind and it can no longer feel the heart
And the excitement is just gone or it’s waning
And the arrow shows the way to go but you’re wrenched apart
And I don’t feel, I don’t feel it anymore, I don’t feel it in me

But I can see it all in you and your mouth your tongue drives me and it’s
Through your mouth that your lungs drive me
It’s just a boon

And you can be simple and it’s a call me out
And you can leave it smooth it real and I can feel it out
And like the morning bread, your fervor breaks the trend

But I can see it all in you and your mouth your tongue drives and it’s
Through your mouth that your lungs drive me
Oooh this fire I’m eager to go
But it’s so simple to say if it’s in your head let it show

I plug in but I can’t tune the outcome will come but the incision pulls the blood out from the wound
I sit down just sit around it’s lost
I feel sick sick lag sick waste and I can admit
I no longer roll the position I’m in
I cut back I’m cutting around the shapeless pieces contradicting or ready to expire
I am bleeding I am now
It’s just push discover and nobody ever cares how the art is uncovered
Now it’s just mystery how anyone could feel inspired

But I can see it in your heart
Yeah your tongue drives, forever on your sleeve
(Yeah your tongue drives)
Yeah when the eyes seize
(Yeah your tongue drives me)
Your tongue drives me
And it’s saying
Do, pursue, and carry on

Focus

Written By: Michel Lafrance

Same repetition or is it the fame’s repercussion that brings you to
Hate your life scrutinize
I love how you think that this is made all out for
You hesitate to donate your time’s not an issue here
You won’t get away with that anymore
You have always had enough to insure

Selfish minds, selfish thoughts, selfish breeds breed selfish plots
Never happy with what you got never count the money until it has
Stopped coming in until your health hemorrhages until the
Fame disappears you are always jaded, always frustrated

(What do you expect to get, you’re spoiled don’t forget)
Always ill-fated always unsatisfied, addicted to addition
Fortune is endless from which we cannot divide
You will take your pay every other day
Always ill-fated forever be unsatisfied
Limited, furnished, overfed, coveted
Always ill-fated, no cannot deny

Spend, relentless your greed has no end
Beginning with you and descend, all meaning to you must intend
Lean in, focus you know that you
Must take time to let your eyes adjust
Look closer and see through the stuff, compare to a life in the rough
You will see what you have is enough

Weaponless

Written By: Michel Lafrance

The air must survive if only the air must survive
A cinch it must be now to write us off my dear
But shouldn’t be inhumane to ravage one’s own home
Oh earth
Nervous is what I feel sunken
Our color is thinning under the haze you deaden earth

Few things connect us oceans apart
I’d never have considered your print upon me
But this co2’s binding us like an angelic art
Time to reconsider the energy and the power we’ve found a way to waste
Cause soon we’ll be devoured nature’s already on pace to erase

Atmosphere on fire
Burn it to the wire
From the east world to the west
It’s time for reason we’re weaponless
It’s front-page news
Anywhere in the world
Only to be ignored
You just skip right to the sports (just skip all the reports)
Fuel up and burn it away

Some of us try to save a tree yeah and some of us are trying to keep it greener
Cause somebody has to call us to intervene or the conditions will pass us back
And little by little the icing belittles and we’re starting to get the
trickle of residue right up the middle
Put your foot down now on our shores –and you will see

You can beat it it’s sloth
We can beat it all, beat it just
Take one single moment to think
Single moment to fight and change it
