The Neighborhood

The Long Island music scene is on the cusp of revitalization…the cause: The Neighborhood. Formed in 2010 by four musicians who came from the same “Neighborhood,” this Long Island based band incorporates their musical influences from hip hop, neo-soul, alternative-rock, and jazz. This diverse list of influences is a perfect reflection of the eclectic group of eccentrics that “The Neighborhood” is comprised of.
The Neighborhood is currently performing a series of shows in New York City leading up to their highly anticipated EP which is scheduled to be released this fall. The band started in a basement as a 3 piece band, 2 of which are still members and gradually added to the group by performing at neighborhood venues and jamming with the local talent. When the band reached 6 members, their first show was scheduled for the Times Square Art Center and after they ripped the house down they left the rest of the city in want. As of now The Neighborhood is leaving their mark on New York City’s downtown music scene; however, they have their eyes set on the world and are pressing on towards their goal of reaching out to it musically.
