the near east quartet

the NEQ is the contemporary World/Jazz Quartet consisted of Sax/Guitar/Bass/Trad. Perc. performing aound country in S Korea. Each of the member has been active in domestic and international Jazz and world music scenes including mr Kim Dong Won on Perc and Voice featured on Yoyoma's "Silkroad Ensemble" and recordings from Sony Music. They have been gathering and picking up reputation from the industry for their new interpretations and impressions of Korean Traditional Music and Modern Improvisation. The NEQ has been founded upon "musical urgencies" that has long been existed between Traditional Korean Music and Contemporary Jazz context.(formed by composer, saxophonist-Son Sungjae, bassist - Lee Soonyong, guitarist - Chung Suwuk and mr Kim Dong Won who sings and plays korean percussions.)
