"Logo Magazine"

'If The Yeah Yeah Yeahs sounded like The Neutrinos then they would be something to get REALLY excited about.
It’s a scene from a David Lynch film shot through a blood-red filter with Trent Reznor handling the soundtrack'

- David Thomas

"Pavement"

'....darkly decadent, searingly gorgeous tunes...the music evokes the visual work of Francis Bacon and Tracey Emin. ‘Dark thoughts, darker humour - the dirty pop energy of risk’.

- Sarah Grace

"Time Out"

'Masterful breakbeat pop and innovative artsy live visuals... showmanlike... groovy' - Arwa Haider

Bio

The Neutrinos released their classic EP on the UK2 label in April 2003. The 3 tracks also mark the return to the fray of producer Paul Sampson, the man with a collection of 7” classics under his belt including The Primitives ‘Crash’, Catatonia’s ‘Sweet Catatonia’ and a number of projects with David McAlmont.

The CD also includes a bonus video track for ‘Murder’.

The songs on the disc, ‘Murder’, ‘Fu*ker’ and ‘You Suck’ may appear to be courting controversy in an uncertain world, but the actuality of these songs is an acute observation on the parlous state of many contemporary relationships, leading to the rise of overly manipulative leaders/mentors/lovers.

‘Murder’ describes an ultimate cynical ambition, a coldness of the heart, delivered with a shiveringly contrasting vocal warmth. ‘Fu*ker’ kicks off like, well, the mean m*therfucker it is. Dirty-ass fantasy glam rock guitars cranked up to 11 propelled by some awesome drumming under a slow burn vocal that builds into a crescendo of violent verbal assault. Finally ‘Suck’ relates the tale of one human being exhausting another’s will. Dry.
In trials the single received a 'thrilling' verdict, rave reviews and airplay from John Peel, Colin Murray, Mary-Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 1 and Zoe Ball on London's XFM.

The Neutrinos have been described as ‘a band that revels in the more decadent manipulation of music’ for their tales of love and debauchery which break out of the sanitised norms of contemporary music. ‘Real music showmanship that is hard to come by in today’s climate of garage and mediocre indie pop’. Theirs is a world of innovation filled with optical and aural illusion, far removed from the currently prevalent sad nostalgia.

The cinematic quality of the explosive punk-rock hip-hop influenced sound of the band is evident where dirty hip hop rhythms collide with commando raids of furious breakbeats. Low bottom end growls from the deepest pit on earth lurk beneath jaunty blasts of pop sensibility which support a barrage of daringly provocative lyrical themes with a pure rock n’ roll attitude. Renowned for their dramaturgy, The Neutrinos create a disturbing amalgam of disfigured beats and soaring, ‘darkly decadent, searingly gorgeous tunes’ as Pavement magazine put it, evocative of the work of Francis Bacon and Tracey Emin. ‘Dark thoughts, darker humour - the dirty pop energy of risk’.

A Neutrinos show is an assault on the senses with a battery of visual projections, perfectly complementing the music. These are mixed live from a variety of sources including computer technology, slides, video projections and live camera action. Keran forms the visual focus, a compellingly enigmatic, mesmerisingly sharp clawed, stage presence delivering a powerfully aggressive musical and lyrical violence. She succeeds in appearing to maintain eye contact with every member of the audience

The Neutrinos recently provided the music for the Sony nominated BBC Radio 4 series ‘Rapid Eye Movement.

Formed in 2000, the band have played throughout the UK. They are currently recording their debut album for label Wet Nurse under the production guidance of Paul Sampson.
