Bio

In the future when the scene is clear and it seems as if all limitations have been reached, there is often a great change beneath the surface waiting for the right time to emerge. That time is Now. The change is THE NEW AGE.

Hailing from Philadelphia where an underground network of artists, musicians, and dancers thrive off of the creativity of one another, their music crosses many boundaries. The New Age has birthed a new genre - Hiptronic Electrohop. It's the combination of Hip-Hop, Techno, and a dash of everything else with crisp, precise lyrical content that everyone can relate to, creating a mood of pure energy.

Comprised of emcee Traverse, DJ C-Sharp, and Grand Master Burner on drums; The New Age just released their BRAND NEW DEBUT ALBUM under IXiiV Records, Novus Ordo Seclorum, on August 8, 2009.

Not only will this album be released exclusively in a digital format, The New Age has once again set itself apart from the rest and teamed up with IXiiV Records to be the FIRST band to release a digital album with an exclusive physical component - the Hoodie(TM).

The first single from the LP is entitled "Girls on Bikes." A bass-thumping, crowd-chanting club banger, "Girls on Bikes" is one of their most-requested songs at shows. With an infectious beat and a flow that is unlike anything in Hip-Hop today, "Girls on Bikes," is just one example of what sets The New Age apart from the rest: originality and raw talent. Previews of the music video are available with purchase of the Hoodie. A Director's cut will be released on YouTube in coming weeks!

The New Age officially signed with IXiiV Records - a hip-hop indie label based in both Philadelphia and New York City - in March of 2008. In less than the first 6 months of being signed, The New Age secured a following in Williamsburg - a hip, vibrant district of Brooklyn, NY - playing showcases in popular hot-spots such as The Lucky Cat, 507 Grand, and Club Europa, in nearby Greenpoint, where they later held their release party this past August 8, 2009.

This Fall The New Age will gear up for their first ever tour! The band will be performing on and around college campuses and various venues throughout DE, PA, NJ, NY and CT, as well as stopping by college radio for interviews and live performances.

No one can ever truly know what the future will bring, but it is clear that the future looks bright for the coming of The New Age.
